Contributors
Investigating the complex transformations and changing perceptions of the public sphere from early modern Europe to the present undoubtedly requires interdisciplinary expertise. As a project that seeks to examine the critical relevance and historical perspective of the public sphere, Changing Perceptions of the Public Sphere will bring together experts from a range of different disciplines in order to establish an ongoing dialogue that, as the organizers hope, will feed back into the disciplines involved. Contributors come from German Studies, French Studies, History, Philosophy, History of Science, Asian Studies, Political Science, and Law.
The following contributors will take part in either the conference at Rice University, Houston, USA (15-16 December 2005) or the conference at the University of Cambridge, UK (10-12 July 2006). This is a preliminary list:
