GROUP PROJECT

The class will be divided in three groups with five students as an ideal number of members (or alternatively in two groups, depending on the structure of the semester). The elaboration of a final project will be one of the main tasks in the course. Everything must be done with a maximum of professionality since these projects will be considered as a real life situation. The class will orally present the stages of their project during the semester according to a series of deadlines. There will be two informal stage presentations and a final presentation.

The total time for each group for the final presentation will be around 20-25 minutes (a whole class if we include the final discussion). The rest of the class will ask questions to the group. It is important that you don't exceed those 25 minutes so that you get a good grade on the time aspect. The final presentation must be professionally done using graphics, suitable multimedia (we will decide about the best format during the semester but Power Point, a webpage or Wiki are some options). You need to use as much information (vocabulary, techniques and so on) from what you learnt during the semester as possible.

You will be evaluated on a collaborative effort through your group project. The grade for this final work is a group grade, and everyone will receive the same final grade for the presentation. It is up to your group to make sure everyone contributes. The group, and not the instructor, is fully responsible for the work of each of its members. The instructor may consider the possibility of individual grades in the case of particular outstandingly good or bad performances.
