In January
1999, Rice University was authorized to be the Houston's official test center
for the Madrid
Chamber of Commerce
and Industry. Students in Spanish 305/306 were given the opportunity, for
the first time
in Rice's history, to take the Madrid Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Exam
for the
Certification
of Commercial Spanish (Basic and Superior) on April 16, 1999. This cerification
is
recognized by
most of the Euro Chambers.
