Our cultural documentaries were made by students for students (except German). They were guided by a CSL team of faculty, administrators, and technicians.

Objectives

1. To produce engaging CULTURAL documentaries in Chinese, French, German, and Spanish.
2. To increase students understanding of cultures.
3. To inspire students to study languages and work/volunteer/travel abroad.

Who, Where, and What

1. Two students: one linguist and one cameraman/woman
2. A country of students' choice. Location cannot be capitals or well documented areas
3. Eight-week long stay for the linguist, four to six week long stay for the cameraman/woman
4. Conduct interviews and film part-time
5. Hold an internship or volunteer part-time

Students are responsible for finding their own internships or volunteer opportunities, and secure housing. Internships or volunteering are necessary to help students connect to the culture and people.
