FREN 101

FREN 101 is the first course in French, and it is designed to accommodate students who either never had any French before, or have less than 2 years of experience at the high school level. Students with 2 years of experience or more  need to take the Language Placement Test. For additional information contact Brigitte Crull (RH 218) or the office of the French Studies Department (RH 235).

Deux Mondes, Cahier d'exercices. Fifth edition (2005).
Office Hours Your instructor will announce her / his office hours, location, and telephone extension.
Tutoring University funds are available to provide tutors for students having difficulty in French 101 and 102. If you believe you need help during the semester, contact your instructor.
Grades

Important. You have 3 authorized absences. Starting with the 4th, each absence will decrease your grade by one increment. For example, an A and 4absences will result in a A-.
All tests, exams and assignments are taken under the Honor Code.
Your grade in this course will be calculated in the following way:

  • Quizzes 7%
  • Workbook 12%
  • Paragraphs 6%
  • Tell MeMore 10%
  • Participation 5%
